Christopher James Rybka began his stage experience in Grade 6 when he played the main acting/singing role of Joseph in the school musical production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Chris graduated in 1984 from Sheridan College earning an Illustration Diploma and worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for several years. He studied classical and modern drama at The Academy of Theatre Arts under Polish director and teacher Anthony Turjanski for one year prior to its closing in 1990 and continued his training with acting coach Tim Kacurov at the Toronto Theatre Academy for several more years. |
Chris has been active in community theatre where he played the role of Guts Regan in Ayn Rand's The Night of January 16th for the Elora Community Theatre as well as participated in the Bramalea Little Theatre's One Act Play Directors' Competition where he directed and acted in Gunter Grass' 10 Minutes to Buffalo and won the Director's Award for Excellence in Artistic Interpretation. Chris has been the lighting designer for the Toronto Theatre Academy productions for the past 15 years and has performed various roles in several of the Toronto Theatre Academy productions. After a prolonged hiatus to raise a family Chris is returning to active performing and is excited about developing his professional acting career both in theatre and film.
